Long story short: Norton failed me and I got a virus while searching for a decent photo of an asian goddess to post. Norton couldn't remove the virus, so I had to quarantine the file and reboot.
Now I can't even load my desktop -- all I get is my wallpaper, not even the Start button. Shoot. Looks like I gotta reformat again. :(
Word to the wise: Porn sites are pure evil!
Agreed. I'm currently trying to get "the shite" off of my comp as well. It's been running really sluggish and when I ran Webroot Spy Sweeper, I had over 150 different trojans/spyware/trackings. Good freakin' geez. Porn sites...bad.
I should clarify about the porn sites I visited though...I was trying to find something specific for a post. Honestly. ;)

Posted by: Gennie at September 29, 2004 02:09 PMGennie, do I sense a slight air of skepticism? :P
It's true, though. I've resisted the curiosity about porn sites for several years ever since they kept clogging up my old 486. Even though I'm on a slightly more modern 7 gig harddrive with all of 64 megs of RAM I still sweat at the very thought of logging into one.
But -- I know I sound like Pete Townshend saying he was just doing "research" -- I really did want a photo for a post! I see Asian women everday in my travels and I just want to celebrate them in public! :D
So, I crossed my fingers, hoped Norton would protect me and went in. Ten minutes later my 'puter was in ruins. I knew better. Porn sites are for people with 80 gigs and 400 megs of RAM. And firewalls. Big honkin' firewalls.
And, thanks Steve! I'll check out the site.
And thanks also to Ted. For no reason you need to know. ;P
