Y-y-y-y-y-e-SSS!!!

Last time I had to reformat I was off-line for 5 weeks. This time I'm back among ye in 2 hours. There's no substitute for experience.

As I've been consumed with nothing but getting back on line, I've prepared nothing to post, so irregular and uneven posting shall hafta wait 'til tomorrow.

:D

Do you have enough memory to run Mozilla Firefox? If so I highly recommend it over IE. Also, download Spybot and run it in the background to keep the junk off your system in the first place. As for Norton - a few months ago they had a big huge security problem and patches were put out there to patch their product. Did you patch it then? If not and you've reinstalled Norton - go check and see if you need to patch it!

If you picked up something while browsing - a firewall wouldn't have helped. Spyware gets on your computer over port 80 - you would allow that through so you could browse... therein lies the problem. That's why you also have to run stuff like Spybot.

But if you are not running a firewall - you should be! Even if you use dialup to get online. Go to zonelabs.com - download the free zone alarm firewall to keep bad people from using your system for bad things!

The worst one - that I've not figured out how to get rid of is about:blank - that one does require a system reload... it is insidious and nasty and impossible to get out of the system. It comes to you via porn sites... the wankers! Oh well, hope the new install works well. And I agree with whoever pointed you at the Gweilo diaries. He has tons of Asian women pics *grin*.

Thanks for all of that, Teresa!
Don't know about the memory thing; I have 64 megs. I've been thinking of going back to Mozilla, and I'll look into Firefox.
Thanks, again! :)
