Assignment: Business Name

So, friend and former co-worker Lawruh has been doing free-lance for a few weeks. She likes that she's home for the kids now.

She went into NYC this week to make a presentation and the potential clients were mightily impressed.

"Love it! Can I have your card?" they bellowed.

"D'oh!" she thought. She ended up writing her name an email address on little post-it notes.

So, she asked me to come up with a name for her business. After long hours of searching for something that was both "cute but elegant", I came up with....[drumroll]:

Mouse Clique.

Hear me out.

I see a business card where -- in the lower left corner -- there is a congregation of three or four mice in pale trenchcoats smoking cigarettes. One is leaning on a lamppost candlestick. They are an exclusive yet wonderous clique.

MOUSE CLIQUE Design and Grqphics.

Cute, but not too cute, depending on how it's drawn. I think I like it!

Lawruh likes it to a point. Whadda ya think??

I like the name, but not the logo idea. Not sure what would be better, but the mice in trenchcoat thing makes me think of a Disney-esque spy cartoon.

Dude, you got WAY too much time on your hands! But I like your idea. The trenchcoats sound a little too Sinatra to me. When I think of cliques I think of Todd Rundgren (but who would get that?) After that I think of high school/college cliques. Like a "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" or "Animal House". (A mouse is an animal) Maybe one mouse with shades, one with a hawaiian shirt and one with a leather jacket. Think "Happy Days" maybe. Then again, what the hell do I know? I'm not creative, I'm just a drummer!

Tex!

Todd Rundgren, eh? I've thought the word clique would have made you think of "Mind Gone Heywire". Heh.

I like it, although Columbine ruined trenchcoats for me.

Street punk mice, arms crossed and standing in a group - with attitude. But instead of weapons or whatever, each is holding stuff like paint brushes or has french curves hanging from a belt chain. One might be leaning on an easel.

Ted, I love it! A French curve on a beltloop... excellent idea. One could be resting a T-square on his shoulder like rifle. Kewl.

The gang mice might incite images of gang violence or other not so good stuff. How about putting about five computer mice in a circle. It still fits the mouse clique theme but with an enhancement for the play on words.

Here's one of computer mice gang warfare.

This is more like what I'm talking about, but with the mice facing towards each other.

The trenchcoat thing makes me think of flashers...but then again, I probably watch too much porn.

Joan, you say that like it's a bad thing? :)

Interesting post and I really like your take on the issue.  I now have a clear idea on what this matter is all about. Thank you so much.
